Should you send Valentine’s day flowers ?
Short answer is yes,
Long answer not necessarily, that is if you already celebrate milestones in your relationship, some girls or guys would prefer to remember the day of your first date and make that your “valentine’s day”.
Flowers re-enforce the message you want to say to someone, in this case I Love You, actions speak louder than words and all that palaver… its true, I have delivered enough flowers in my time of being a florist, just about that everyone loves getting a delivery of flowers, the attention from co-workers, the response from friends on social media all adds to the experience of getting flowers, gets you more “brownie points” !
The flowers need to be impressive though, doesn’t have to be expensive or even big, as long as its not average, that’s where you need Daisy Chain to create a bouquet for you, don’t go buy a bunch from the supermarket these are average.
Last year I delivered some flowers to an office, a lady walked past me “oh look flowers from Daisy Chain who are they for ? ” she didn’t recognise me (or even see me) but instantly recognised my work… not average… I loved this !!
Valentine’s day was named after a Priest called Valentine, who was condemned to death for marrying soldiers in secret as it was thought that an unmarried soldier fought better than a married one, there are many legends around this priest, one being a miracle making a blind girl see, she was one of the judges daughters, the rumours say the last thing Valentine wrote before being killed , was to this girl and signed off saying “from your Valentine” .
It’s not all love and roses for St. Valentine, he died a tortuous death on February 14, and though he is the patron Saint of Love… the patronage also includes fainting, epilepsy, plague, travelers, bee keepers and young people.. but that's not cute for the marketing people to package up in ribbons and sell to you !!
You don’t have to send red roses.. in fact we are going to have very few red roses, our biggest selling rose this year will be hot pink roses. Sending red roses began as a marketing campaign as some rose growers had too many reds to sell …. So pick something your beloved will love to get, don’t be boring and pick red.
We will only be selling locally grown roses, all Australian grown beautiful roses.
